The restoration of an early 18th century Grade II listed building in Central London to create a beautiful new five storey home. An important objective was to preserve the heritage of the building through careful conservation and restoring it as a modest but comfortable home.

Whilst significant structural works including a new lift shaft, roof terrace, glass floors and services infrastructure were installed, the contractor carefully worked around the majority of the original 18th century fabric which survives internally including the staircase, joinery, fibrous plaster and fireplaces.  We were employed by the main contractor, Knight Harwood, to provide temporary works design and structural engineering advice.
