The Cambridge House Piccadilly project incorporates the demolition of 42 Half Moon Street and 10-11 White Horse Street alongside the Façade Retention of 90-95 Piccadilly and the stabilisation of adjacent structures.
The development will merge these structures into three buildings, by constructing multi-level basements behind the retained facades and erecting a new 5 storey extension at 12 White Horse Street. The multi-storey basements will be formed using perimeter secant piles. The excavations will be carried out in sequence, using top down construction and 3 levels of temporary propping designed by L+C.
The new structure will vary in height, from 4 storeys to 5 storeys, including both commercial and residential units.
Careful sequencing of the work and extensive temporary works, all designed by L+C, will be required in order to maintain stability of these buildings during demolition and refurbishment.
