L+C are working as structural engineers to transform the existing 7 storey concrete structure into a modern office space.

The refurbishment includes replacing the top 2 concrete framed stories with 3 lightweight steel stories to maximize the floor areas while keeping overall loading to a minimum.

The central RC stability core area is to be replaced with a steel braced bay core. A six-storey steel frame extension has been added to rear, using a Slimflor system to provide a flat soffit compatible with the architectural aspiration of exposed services.

The tired glass facade is also to be replaced with a mix of GRC backed brickslip cladding and glazing.
