Edelman - South Side, Victoria

L+C Engineers provided structural engineering services for the fit out of the third and fourth floors of this existing office building.  The existing structure comprises RC flat slabs supported on RC columns. The structural alterations included removal of three bays of the fourth floor slab, installation of trimming steelwork around a proposed stair void, strengthening of the existing fourth floor slabs around the void using carbon fibre plate bonding and installation of a new stair from third to fourth floor. The works were carried out in an occupied building and to a challenging programme.
