Blackfriars Court

Lucking and Clark were appointed by Ibex Interior, the main contractor, to carry out structural design and detailing of the above staircase at Blackfriars Court as part of their development of the new building for Rowe and Maw.

Morey Smith wished to produce a striking impression in the reception area of Rowe and Maw's new offices, with a free-spanning but slender helical stair. Lucking and Clark produced a slender design in steelwork, with a clear span on the outer edge of 10 metres linking into a new curved extension to the existing landing, again with no additional vertical supports.
